RenWerx, developers the of the renegades mod for tribes I, II and T:V and most recently partner of the upcoming game Legends which was being developed by Tribes players, has decided to split it's partnership with legends. Both groups are now going their separate ways.
That's right, work on the patch for T:V has been cancelled. This comes from a thread post on the offical VUG forums 14@127.jC4heWVek0C.8981107@.1dd97873>here.
This means that the default maps wont get balanced and most of all that PB will never see the light of day in T:V.
The highly awaited VM Map Pack has been released. Weighing in at just under 200 meg with some 19 maps, the VM map pack promises to bring new thrills to Tribes: Vengeance.
The main difference this map pack has isn't the new maps, it's the fact that you will spawn in light armour on all the maps. Should mix things up a little :)
The maps themselves have been in development since T:V's release and this compendium brings together the best maps made since then. Maps in.....
Even Balance, Inc. have announced that they have been contracted by VUG to incorporate Punk Buster into Tribes: Vengeance. Soon we'll hopefully have a nice cheat free game.
The SS:2845 team has decided to ditch the Tribes: Vengeance Mod idea and go with a standalone game using the Torque Shader Engine. This is the engine, however much improved, in which Tribes 2 was made.
This can be seen as good news on the SS:2845 front as now it will be available cross-platform using OpenGL instead of the heavily D3D dependant UT engine.

The patch has been delayed from our initial December release date due to an outstanding agreement between two third parties. They need to come to terms before we can proceed.
